Fee Free Public Holidays!
Mountain Creek Early Childhood Centre understands the importance of offering quality early childhood education programs and services while ensuring the cost doesn’t become a barrier to families being able to access this. To support this our management have an offer to assist all families - Fee Free Public Holidays! (T’s & C’s apply). If your child attends on one of the public holidays included in this deal, you will no longer be charged a gap fee for this day. This is a great initiative to help reduce the cost of early childhood education during days the service is closed.
If you are looking for an early learning centre, there are many options available out there, and finding the right fit is paramount in ensuring your children have the best possible start to their learning journey. At Mountain Creek Early Childhood Centre our team think outside of the box; questioning practices and beliefs in regards to children’s learning and development in the early years, and challenge the status quo. Our pedagogy is based on the simple understanding that when given the respect, time and opportunities to make their own discoveries; children grow in confidence, developing a lifelong love of learning. The important role we play in the lives of each family at our service is to build respectful partnerships which positively impact on everyone and supports each child’s sense of themselves as confident, creative and capable. This is what sets Mountain Creek Early Childhood Centre apart from other services; we enrol families, not just children.
At Mountain Creek child care mud, water, sticks, sand, leaves, plants and things to climb…this is what learning is about at our service. Not only does outdoor play promote connections to nature, it also stimulates the immune system, reduces stress, encourages safe risk exploration, and fosters creative play and building friendships. What more could you want for your child? Allowing children the freedom to choose where they would like to play and learn, and when, is an integral aspect of our philosophy. The outdoor play spaces have recently been revitalised to incorporate more natural environments and opportunities to negotiate safe risk play on our beautiful timber fort and decking areas. The beautiful water play spaces are the perfect place for children to stay cool and explore in either the peaceful babbling creek bed through to the crazy water spout play area. The outdoor spaces are an amazing aspect of our service and every child (big or small) loves spending their time exploring and playing in the natural spaces.
Our team are proactive about building children’s social capital – getting out and about on regular excursions into the community. This is a positive and liberating experience not only for the children and families but also for community members as we explore the age old concept of a ‘village’ raising a child. Our favourite places to visit are the community garden, Buderim recycle market and the Kawana Library. Exploring our surroundings supports each child in developing a sense of belonging in the world around them and builds lifelong learning about how they can contribute and participate in their community.
Our team are on a journey of embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures respectfully and appropriately throughout our service and daily routines. We want to support our little friends in learning about Australia’s true cultural heritage and be proud of our Nation’s first people. Learning about and sharing the unique culture and traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, will help to ensure they continue for generations to come. This is an important foundation in the first 5 years as children are literally building their brains, personalities and beliefs. What an important responsibility we have - to make such an impact on who they can become as they grow. Our team are hopeful that by offering respectful cultural experiences, our little friends can become positive thinkers and doers for the future. This is something our centre is driven by – sharing new learning and understandings with our families as we move towards reconciliation for the future – it’s everyone’s responsibility.
Our team is driven to foster each child’s connection to the natural environment and support them in becoming ‘environmental crusaders’. We are on a journey of investigating new and creative ways to reduce our carbon footprint and care for our planet – this is something we are learning in partnership with children and families each day. Our team have a holistic approach to learning and teaching which encourages our innate connections to the natural world and fostering each child’s love, understanding and respect of this.
